Jonathan, a 44 year old Hispanic/Greek man sits with a closed smile behind his desk, wearing black glasses. His hair is black and he looks young. The sun shines through the window behind him. His shirt is a black button down.
I’M NOT TRAINED TO USE A SCALPEL TO HOLLOW THE BODY. I ONLY HAVE WORDS TO STITCH CLOSED THE WOUNDS TIME HAS LEFT BEHIND.
— J. SAUCEDO ("A Silent Love Letter")

Jonathan (he/him) is a freelance actor and writer based in Chicago. Much of Jonathan’s professional career was spent teaching students, grades 6-12, in the content areas of English/Language Arts and Theatre. After working with students, many with an array of special needs, Jonathan found himself on the other side of disability when diagnosed with a rare autoimmune neurological disorder in 2015. Forced to give in or create something new,  Jonathan began pursuing his Master of Fine Arts in Writing while freelance acting to bring visibility to marginalized voices as a disabled person in the LGBTQ+ community. In December 2024, he earned his MFA upon completing his creative nonfiction thesis, The Other Side of the Chair. This portfolio showcases selected writing and features the All Good Things blog. In this space, Jonathan discusses the ups, downs, and in-betweens of navigating life with a disability using a side of humor and a big, lyrical dose of hope.
